life lessons

Have you ever noticed that the people in movies make mistakes, apologize, and never do anything bad for the rest of their lives?

Well what about us in the real world??? Over the years I realized that being honest, nice, and helping others is not as easy as 1-2-3. Something is always standing in the way. Whether it is another person not returning the duty or just plain making you mad.

It is hard to be a role model when you are mad.

Especially for us oldest children.

Oh well.

When we are young nothing like this bothers us. I like that about babies and toddlers.

Which reminds me...

Didn't we look gorgeous in our grandmothers lipstick?

I am on the right, by the way, and my sister is on the left.

I think I might have used the lipstick as blush.

I didn't care then so why should I care now?

I shouldn't.

So I don't.

  1. Oh yes, Katie -being the oldest is hard.
I think the best we can do is to be nice, honest, and helpful as much as we possibly can - because we know it's right, and because we know the Littlers will learn from us - and this will eventually help in the long run.
That said - no one is perfect - and when we are mad, that can be easier said than done. So - we apologize for our part in it, and try to do better next time. Hopefully they wlll too.
Yep - even us "Oldests" aren't perfect - but you know what? We're pretty darn great. Especially you.
By the way - you are ONE CUTE BABY -even in lipstick rouge.
And yes - being a baby is easier in some ways...but being big is so much more fun. I hear I have to go over and watch a video of a certain big kid during her riding lesson :)
    Love you!
